Available in a range of colours and combinations, our soft woollen blankets are made exclusively from loden and are light and soft thanks to the use of New Zealand wool. They are the ideal companion for cosy moments on the sofa. The colour-coordinated border gives the blanket a noble and high-quality character. Made in Germany by nahtur-design, these sustainable wool blankets are exceptionally soft and supple, naturally temperature regulating, durable and machine washable (delicates!). Made to last a lifetime.

Available in three different measurements and weighing just under 2 pounds, this blanket is the perfect size for backpacking, strapping it behind a saddle, or simply laying it down in the park for a picnic. As a travel blanket for caravan, car, bicycle, in the backpack or hand luggage and even for dogs, the blanket is very small and easily rolled up. The wool is resistant to flying sparks from the campfire and water repellent. To increase its durability and enhance its look, we’ve reinforced the border. It is made from new wool from New Zealand; the same great fabric used for our Loden neck roll pillow.

Ecological Origin of New Wool

Loden requires very fine wool, which is not suitable for European sheep. We have chosen not to use merino wool to ensure transparency and animal welfare.
Mulesing: The controversial method of mulesing is only used on Merino sheep and only in Argentina, as the specific fly responsible for the parasite infestation only exists there.

We offer the sustainable blankets in 3 sizes:

• S – 75 cm x 100 cm / 29" x 39" (200 gram) – (perfect as blanket for baby, children or animals)
• M – 100 cm x 150 cm / 39" x 59" (380 gram) – (perfect for travelling, picnic, as shawl or to warm your legs)
• L –150 cm x 200 cm / 59" x 78" (760 gram) – (cuddly blanket to cover the body)

Wool Care Instructions

How to wash wool?

"less is more...…" to help wool clothing last longer, only wash them when necessary.

The naturally contained wool grease (lanolin) ensures the self-regulating and antibacterial properties of wool fibres. Air out wool garment. Wash your wool clothing one final time at the end of the season or if it is very dirty. Hand wash with cool or cold water or wash on the wool, gentle, or delicate cycle with an enzyme-free liquid detergent like Sonett and a low spin speed (max. 400). If possible, use the washing machine setting for wool garments

How to dry your wool clothes and woollen textiles?

To avoid shrinking, don’t put wool clothing in the dryer. Instead, lay wool items flat to dry on a fresh towel or mesh rack in a spot that doesn’t receive direct sunlight. Carefully adjust the shape of the garment to ensure it is evenly stretched as it dries.

Ironing

Fleece loden and fine loden only with a damp cloth and iron from the left.

Detergent

We recommend using a special wool detergent that moisturises and cares for the wool. E.g. the olive detergent from Sonett.
