Discover the East Frisian island Borkum! At the ferry terminal, the curious gray goose Guntje climbs into the Borkum narrow-gauge railway and experiences an exciting trip to the train station, because it's a steam loco! After a stroll through the streets, it finally makes its way to the beach. There Guntje wants to take a nap in the tent after swimming in the North Sea. Because at night the goose wants to be up and aloud to experience the island on a tour of the witching hour. Guntje also wants to explorte the Wadden Sea. There it meets distant relatives, but the little grey goose does not want to fly away with them, because there are still too many things to discover on the island. For example, the airfield or the campsite. Even if the weather is bad, you can experience a lot on the German island Borkum. On a stormy day, wind and waves make a walk on the beach promenade an exciting thing. And if it is too wet – go to the museum of local history! Because here, in addition to a huge whale skeleton, there are many other exciting things to discover. When Guntje finally wants to go back to the mainland, it does not see a big whale, but funny seals that feel great in the cold water.
On the pictures inf the sustainable children’s book »Discover Island Borkum« (in German Mein kleines Insel-Wimmelbuch – Spiekeroog) small visitors can discover a lot of interesting things. Together with the gray goose Guntje, children from the age of 2 and up can explore with their parents the East Frisian island of Borkum in the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park.
