DIY handcrafted Shaving Brush 'Sir George' | D.O.M. Olivenholz erleben
Shaving brushes are usually made by machine today. Some brushes are still handmade with genuine natural badger bristles. Anyone can make the handcrafted luxury shaving brush »Sir George« made with either natural or synthetic materials. We supply all the necessary components. The shaving bristles (badger hair or synthetic hair for vegans) and the handle made of untreated olive wood. The grooves for the shaving bristles are of course already prepared.
Tips for assembling
To joint the handle and the bristles, it is best to use some waterproof wood glue or superglue, which is usually also waterproof. Put a tiny amount of glue in the bottom of hole in the brush stock. Let this dry for a day and then oil the handle with hard oil and let it dry for a day. You can also use olive oil from the kitchen. In that case, we recommend that you do this twice. This way the brush is protected from moisture and can be used daily.

Terms of delivery
We will ship within 4-5 business days after conclusion of contract (the delivery period begins after receipt of payment). Unless otherwise stated in the product description, the goods will be delivered in Germany within 3 –5 business days, in the case of foreign deliveries within 5 – 7 business days. When paying in advance the delivery period begins after receipt of payment. Please note that there is no delivery on Sundays and public holidays.
We ship by mail up to 1kg. From 1kg we ship with UPS, if necessary with DHL.
For international mail we use Post / DHL or UPS as a service provider

The drying of the olive wood takes place outdoors. Drying systems are not used. After drying, the wood is further processed: sawed, turned, drilled and finely ground. And brought to shine with a few drops of pure olive oil. The raw material olive wood is used from the trunk to the small pieces of olive wood. Even the chips or remnants are processed in the products or benefit the customer. For example, the chips of saws as smoker wood in the BBQ area.

The only transport of the raw material is the way to us and the shipping of an order from our workshop to the customer. The further processing is designed to save resources, since the storage for drying of olive wood takes place outdoors.

Olive wood is a raw material with a high hardness and density, which is extremely durable even under daily stress and which is extremely resistant to many substances and mechanical influences such as fats, hot cookware, or sharp knife blades.
