The santoku knife is the Japanese universal tool in the kitchen. It is suitable for professional and amateur chef. The name Santoku stands for three ("San") virtues ("Toku"), which in this context stand for mincing, dicing and slicing of meat, fish and vegetables. Originally made for preparing Japanese dishes, the santoku knife has long since found its way into international kitchens. A Santoku knife is ideal for preparing wok dishes and wafer-thin sushi. It cuts and chops meat, fish, vegetables and herbs with ease, although it was designed solely for pressure cutting and not for weighing.

In addition to the enormous sharpness of a santoku knife, its special shape is characteristic. Unlike European models, the blade is wider than the handle, so your fingers have more space when cutting. The rosewood handle impresses with its natural grain, which makes every knife from MY-BLADES unique. Thanks to the curved shape, the all-purpose knife lies well balanced in the hand. This allows you to cut safely and precisely with the whole blade. In addition, a santoku knife is often lighter than its comparably sized European relatives.

Cleaning & Care: Knives with wooden handles are not suitable for the dishwasher. These knives should only be cleaned by hand. To prevent the wood from becoming brittle and dry, we recommend regular oiling with oil (e.g. linseed oil) or wax (e.g. beeswax). This renews the wood preservation and gives the wood a silky sheen and rich colour.
