*What is stoneware?

Stoneware is dense pottery made from clay that has been fired at a temperature between 2150 and 2330 degrees Fahrenheit. It is one of the oldest craft materials in human history. By no means to be confused with earthenware – because stoneware is already watertight, frost-free and dishwasher-safe even without glaze. Our stoneware is sandstone-coloured, grey or cream and is fired at 1220 °C.
