HYDROPHIL – out of love for water
Water is the essential element of wasserneutral UG. Out of love for water Christoph and Sebastian founded the project HYDROPHIL. Water is their motivation for action, water is the source of every life. GO GREEN. Influenced by their work at the aid organisation Viva con Agua a very special relationship with the vital element has emerged for the two young entrepreneurs.
Soon appeared production-related questions, such as "How do you make a shirt water neutral under Fair Trade conditions and with all meaningful seals for organic cotton?" – Since September 2013 exactly this organic shirt for men and women exists; certified by the Fair Wear Foundation, GOTS, OE Blended, OE 100, OEKO-TEX, REACH compliant. Cool, isn't it?
The Who is Who of organic seals at HYDROHIL
The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is recognized as a leading global standard for the processing of textiles from organic fibers. In the standard sophisticated ecological criteria for the entire supply chain of organic textiles are set. The use of chemicals is restricted and compliance with social criteria is claimed. OE Blended refers to all products that contain a blend of organic cotton and other materials. OE 100 tracks the purchasing, handling and use of 100% certified organic cotton in yarns, fabrics and finished products based on transaction certificates for factories that do not yet meet the GOTS standard.
The Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is an independent, nonprofit organization that works with companies and factories to improve working conditions for the textile and clothing workers. The FWF Foundation begins its review from the moment of production and is active above all in Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Macedonia, Poland, Romania, Tunisia and Turkey.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 is a globally uniform testing and certification system for textile raw materials, intermediate and end products at all stages of processing. This certification covers several human-ecological aspects from including a pollutant test for forbidden substances, legally regulated substances, as hazardous to health respected chemicals (but not yet legally regulated) and on parameters for health care. Textile products can only be certified according to OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, if all components meet the required criteria without exception.
REACH compliant: The aim of REACH is to improve the protection of human health and the environment through better and earlier identification of the intrinsic properties of chemical substances and through the consistent use of authorized substances.
T-Shirts are printed with water-based screening print ink (Dekaprint 2000). Manufactured according to the state of the chemical development and technology corresponds Dekaprint 2000 all environmental requirements that are now placed on a modern product. Dekaprint 2000 does not include any solvents that are subject to marking.
