From the passion for cooking, Carmen Zirngibl, owner of My Cookery Log®, wondered what purpose organic waste might still have. Organic waste is often used as fertilizer in the garden. But before it comes to this, e.g. from coffee dregs decorative bowls, tealight holders or planters are built by an upcycling process.
Responsible handling of resources motivates My Cookery Log® to create new workpieces from organic waste. Thus, coffee grounds and other organic wastes have a further function before they become fertilizers on the compost heap at the end of their lifes.
When at My Cookery Log® upcycling meets design, the result is a decorative silver lining of coffee dregs. MCL® has published the second edition of coffee dregs with lamps made from coffee grounds. The upcycling lamps give every kitchen table and dining room a unique charm. Like the decoration objects, the hanging lamps are unique, because the raw material is a natural product, which always behaves uniquely and creates different colour shades and surface structures.
In addition to a beautiful home, My Cookery Log® makes articles of daily use made from used fabrics and yarns. These include aprons and bags for bread from old linen tablecloths. Vegetable and fruit bags made from organic cotton gauze are replacing plastic bags and paper bags.
