nahtur-design feel-good clothing & textiles in organic quality
Do you want to know where the clothes you wear on your body come from and how they are made? Then discover the collection of sustainable clothing, organic bedding and organic home textiles by nahtur-design at Greenpicks. Airy fabrics from certified organic farming and new wool from mulesing free animal husbandry are the raw materials for the eco-friendly linen fashion by nahtur-design. Renewable, natural raw materials such as loden and leather complete the raw material portfolio. Regionality and sustainability come first throughout the entire manufacturing process.
The special material – organic linen – is used for drapey dresses, airy skirts, casual linen trousers and chic blazers and linen shirts. From bright natural colours to bold red, from rough and crinkly to soft linen jersey and accessories that leave nothing to be desired.
The special Fabric – organic Linen
Why does Nathalie from nahtur-design use organic linen? What is so special about it? It starts with the cultivation and extraction of the material. Linen is obtained from the flax plant. The flax comes from certified organic farming in Belgium and France. The plant is not treated with pesticides, so it is free of harmful substances. And the cultivation of flax requires little water. In a linen weaving mill in Austria it is washed, bleached and woven into linen fabric and linen jersey until it is made into clothing in Bad Segeberg (Germany). It is bleached only with oxygen, and if it is dyed, then under GOTS guidelines, i.e. under strict ecological requirements. Thanks to its tear resistance, linen is very hard-wearing and therefore very suitable for making durable clothing and home textiles.
Finest Loden for Natural Fshion and Interior
Loden is traditionally made from pure new wool from sheeps. nahtur-design pays attention to animal welfare and only processes certified mulesing free new wool. nahtur-design also only uses for this natural fibre merino wool from certified species-appropriate husbandry from France and New Zealand. Like all renewable raw materials, pure wool is also compostable and recyclable. Before the loden is turned into fashionable jumpers, waistcoats and jackets in Schleswig-Holstein, the wool is woven into loden and finished in southern Germany.
The finest loden fabrics have always been known for their use in traditional clothing. However, Nathalie, a trained fashion designer and tailor nowadays relies on ecological merino wool fabrics to develop innovative and unique garments and interiors. The loden fabrics are also used for jackets, light outdoor clothing and home textiles. The fine quality gives the organic loden fashion by nahtur-design an elegant appearance.
nahtur-design‘s Philosophy and Attitude to life "naturally self-confident living".
In the small community of Bosau on Lake Ploen in an idyllically situated croft, Nathalie Skultety (fashion designer and dressmaker) and Josef Skultety (linen and shoe consultant) have dedicated themselves to the natural way of life and share a love of nature and clothing made from pure raw materials in organic quality. At the company's headquarters in Bad Segeberg, clothing engineer Heike supports and is responsible for the fashion collection. And the models Melanie and Stefan are part of the team and family.
Josef and Nathalie Skultety's attitude to life, "naturally self-confident living", only allows the use of renewable raw materials in organic quality. Matching the fashion collection made of organic linen and organic wool, nahtur-design also offers shoes by Woody. Also a natural product made of Austrian stone pine and rhubarb leather, super comfortable and healthy for the feet. The shoe collection includes selected models such as so-called barefoot shoes. These are linen shoes with natural rubber soles. And pure new wool sneakers made of hard-wearing loden are water-repellent and always ensure a balanced climate for the foot. No matter what the weather.
Nature connection is also reflected in the homemade organic cosmetics by nahtur-design.
Clothing and Accessories from nahtur-design are completely natural down to the last detail
Thinking in cycles is the decisive prerequisite for reducing the consumption of resources to a sustainable level. Nathalie and Josef and the family team are passionate about sustainable fashion. The entire production process from the natural fibre to the wonderful garment is completely natural down to the last detail. Even the sewing thread is free of synthetic fibres.
If the material cycle is effectively controlled, fabrics and materials can be used largely without residues. Nahtur design processes all fabric remnants that accumulate in the tailor's shop. The collection of "restless products" includes cosmetic bags and toilet bags made of colourful fabric strips or floor cushions. From the finest scraps, handmade paper is produced by hand, sheet by sheet, in Austria.
