neunmalklug – the philosophy
Children discover their world through the sensory organs. They feel, grab things and put them into their mouth. For this to be possible without worries neunmalklug produces children's books without plasticizers and pollutants. The paper comes from sustainable forestry, that means from forests that are certified accordingly. Since the books are printed with vegetable inks and manufactured according to the Cradle to Cradle principle, they can eventually return completely to the cycle of nature. Production exclusively is done in Germany and Austria.
The entire publishing is done holistically sustainable: ecologically, economically and socially. These values are also reflected in the stories: Friendship, solidarity, respect, appreciation, to discover nature and adventure travel shall make children's eyes shine and let children's hearts leap for joy. The sustainable management includes the careful handling of man and nature, the supply of green electricity and account management in a social-ecological bank.
Sustainability at neunmalklug
With the use of paper from sustainable forestry neunmalklug ensures that for books from neunmalklug no rain forests are being cut. The Cradle to Cradle certified paper is free from contaminants. Its special formulation helps to improve the waste paper. The recycling paper also can be used long term for children's books as well as for food packaging.
The inks are based on renewable plant oils and are guaranteed free of heavy metals and also Cradle to Cradle certified. The inks are water-soluble and biodegradable. For the protection of children's books varniss and foils are used, which are also biodegradable.
The young company has started with the children's book Marta & Piet - a trip to Calcutta and offers in addition postcards and calendars. Wonderfully child-friendly illustrated! Other published products are in the pipeline.
