Write – Plant – Love – Sprout …
briefly the properties of Sprout can be described. But what is difference of this everyday thing for drawing and painting compared to traditional pencils? – The Sprout pencil is a purely natural product. The pencil body is made of scented cedar wood from sustainable forestry. The lead consists of natural materials such as graphite and clay. In the end of the pencil organic seeds are integrated in a capsule. If the pencil has fulfilled its function, it can be planted in a pot with potting soil or in the garden. Water, sunlight, good care and love germinate the seeds after a few days. Depending on the location and kind of herb the seed germinates after 2-3 weeks and after about 4-5 weeks it's harvest time. Basil, dill, green pepper, cherry tomato, sage and other delicious culinary herbs in organic quality can then be distorted harmlessly.
Sprout helps pencil-chewers, to wean of sucking on the pencil. Once damp, the organic seeds begin to germinate ...
Currently, Sprout is made in Minnesota/USA under fair labor conditions and by hand. The makers even handle the problem how they can improve their CO2 footprint, which is not environmentally friendly enough because of the transport from the U.S. to Europe. And what happens to the little pencil stub that is left over after writing and planting? – Here, too, solutions are being sought. Ideas are welcome!
