Organic Millet Husks Mattress for Cradle and Cot | speltex
The baby mattress from speltex® has a mattress core of organic millet husks. The organic filling keeps the mat stable and supports the development of the small spine. The organic cotton slipcase protects the mattress core from mildew. The natural fibre absorbs moisture reliably and quickly returns it to the environment. The baby mattress is completely washable at 60° C degrees. The pad with organic millet shells filling has point-elastic lying properties. It offers babies and toddlers pleasant sleeping comfort. The compact size also allows it to be used as a crawling mat, layer for seats and sofas, yoga mat, travelling pad and sleeping place for pets. Application This mat is characterized by its supple yet firm support characteristics. The always loose and airy filling of pure plant natural products compensates for variations in temperature, absorbs moisture and dries easily again. You can use it as a mattress pad in a crib or in a double layer as a mattress. We recommend for the bottom layer a mat of coarse-grained spelled filling with a high filler loading. For the top layer the fine, supple millet husks are propper. In a medium degree of filling you get more flexibility. If there is a bed base in the cot, a 2 cm thick mat made of coconut fiber or similar material may be of benefit as an additional bottom layer.
Filler loading The filling of grain shells becomes even smoother during use and gives way in volume. By processing with natural rubber they are very durable and largely protected against breakage. The mat is delivered with a high degree of filling.
Take out filling If you like to have the mat soft and relenting, push something out of the filling. Then, close the zipper and take the mat at the opposite end. With short, vigorous shaking, the filling spreads evenly in the empty area.
Add filling To do this, hold the mat at the corner where there is the zipper and shake the filling in the other direction. In the now empty area, you can, for example, with a coffee cup, add the filling.
Washing These mats can be washed as a whole. Because of the selective spreading of the organic spelt or millet husks the filling is spreaded evenly in a thin layer. Therefore, the drying succeeds very well in the sun. The capacity of a 5 kg washing machine is sufficient. Drying in the dryer is possible. To make sure that the drying is completely successful, you can weigh the mat before the wash and then check if the dry weight was reached again.
