Repair kit for beeswax wraps | Toff & Zürpel®

Beeswax cloth are a sustainable alternative for packaging food without plastic. Beeswax wraps by Toff & Zürpel® can last for 1 up to 2 years with good care. Regular use and the related abrasion of the wax mixture or accidental incorrect cleaning can cause it to lose its “stickiness”.

Any beeswax cloth can be refreshed with the Repair Wax by Toff & Zürpel®. This prolongs the useful life. Thus, there is no need to dispose of a worn-out beeswax cloth. The DIY Repair Wax by Toff & Zürpel® is a special mixture of organic beeswax, pine resin and organic coconut oil to easily freshen up a beeswax cloth! The kit contains 40g of beeswax mixture. If you want to make your own wraps, this is enough for about 3 “Large” wraps (42×36 cm).

How to repair a beeswax cloth?

Preparations

1. Preheat your oven to its lowest heat setting (approx. 90°C) 2. prepar water bath3. Clean the work surface, cover with newspaper or similar if necessary (wax could drip onto your work surface).

Work stages

4. Water bath: Melt the required amount of DIY beeswax mixture in a water bath.5. Baking sheet: Place your used beeswax cloth on the baking sheet, smooth it sown and put it in the oven. After about 2-3 minutes, when the remaining wax has melted (the cloth will be shiny), you can remove the tray from the oven.

Now everything must go quickly!

6. Beeswax mixture: Now pour the required amount of melted wax mixture onto the beeswax cloth and spread it with a dough scraper. 7. Finally, remove the remaining wax with the dough scraper, pressing it on a little. Now the beeswax cloth just has to dry. To do this, take it off the baking tray at two corners and wave it gently in the air for a few seconds until your new wax coating has cooled down and is firm.8. Care: The beeswax mixture can stick to your hands, e.g. when you take the cloth in your fingers to dry it. You can use gloves for this, but it is not absolutely necessary. The wax can be easily removed from your hands with alcohol or disinfectant. To remove the residue from the tray, you can put the baking sheet back in the oven and wait until the wax has melted. Then, you can wipe it off with kitchen paper or simply let the wax cool down and scrape it off.

As a sustainable company we always try to use the most environmentally friendly packaging and cushioning for your shipments. For this reason we use new and already used packagings. As the filler, we only use paper-based materials and completely dispense plastics. Even the adhesive tape used is a paper tape with natural rubber adhesive. Thus, we avoid negative interference effects in the recycling process.

Delivery time:

We ship within 2 to 3 business days after receiving your order or after receipt of your payment, if you have chosen the payment method prepayment. Please refer to the relevant product page for exceptions.

Delivery delay:

If an item is currently not available, you will be informed immediately.
