The dental floss effectively and reliably cleans the interdental spaces. Enriched with organic coconut oil, it offers antibacterial protection and at the same time ensures fresh breath with its natural mint flavour. Due to its composition, TIOfloss works naturally against tooth decay and at the same time soothes the gums.
TIOfloss dental floss – fully plant-based and housed in a minimal cardboard packaging – removes plaque between teeth and below the gumline before brushing. Take about 50 cm, wrap the ends around your fingers, use the floss as described here and take a fresh section of the floss for each tooth gap.

How do I use the Tiofloss?Brushing the narrow spaces between the teeth is not enough to clean them sufficiently. Since they make up about one third of the tooth surface, it is very important to clean your interdental spaces separately – preferably with dental floss. Grip them firmly with two fingers, guide them into the space between the teeth, place them halfway around the tooth and pull them carefully from the gum to the end of the tooth, along the tooth, also slightly under the gum – twice on each tooth. Take about 50 cm of floss, wrap the ends around your fingers, apply the floss as described and use a fresh section for each interdental space.
What about the disposal? The material of the yarn is a plant-based polyamide better known as nylon. Unfortunately, nylon is not recyclable in Germany. Until it is, the yarn is best kept in residual waste, whereupon they end up in thermal recycling. Since our materials are based on plants and plants bind a lot of CO2 during photosynthesis, only the CO₂ that was bound by the plants during growth and is released again during thermal recycling – this makes the TIO toothbrushes almost CO2 neutral. This leads to a much better ecological footprint. The packaging can simply be put into the paper bin, where it is recycled.

The spool core and the knife are best put into the yellow bin, from where they are laid down for a new life.

Sustainability
This product meets the following sustainability criteria
The yarn consists of 100% renewable raw materials and is based on castor oil. It’s extracted from seeds of the fast-growing wonder tree. Castor oil is a completely renewable resource that does not require large amounts of water, uses only a small acreage of farmland and is therefore perfectly suited for a future of sustainable agriculture. The spool’s core is made of sugar cane and is recyclable. So after use just put it in the recycling bin and give the material a chance to be brought back to life for another round of use.
The yarn is produced in a textile factory in Southern Europe and then spun into a multi-threaded yarn. Next door, the bobbin on which the yarn is rolled up is manufactured. Together with the knives, the individual parts arrive by truck near Ingolstadt, where they are packed into the cardboard dispenser manufactured in Germany. From there they are transported by truck to our warehouse in Hamburg.
