What is important for boys' socks?

Breathable, easy-care and hard-wearing are the most important properties for boys' socks. Stomping through mud and snow in winter and romping around, playing and cycling in summer – good-fitting boys' socks are necessary for all these activities. Sustainable boys' socks made from organic cotton and organic bamboo fibres can be worn almost all year round. The natural fibres are breathable and absorb moisture, which is especially beneficial for feet that sweat quickly. Knee-highs made of a blend containing warm virgin wool or merino wool keep small and large boys' feet warm in winter. A small amount of elastane or recycled yarn ensures that the socks fit perfectly at all times. Boys' socks are usually machine-washable at 40° C to 60 °C.

Durable socks and stockings reliably accompany little boys and teens at every turn. The sustainable socks are also shipped in completely recycled and recyclable plastic-free shipping materials.

Natural fibres for fresh feet

Socks are worn as close to the skin as underwear. Therefore, from an ecological point of view, boys' socks and stockings meet the same sustainable requirements as underwear. Organic cotton, bamboo viscose, hemp and wool from certified species-appropriate husbandry are optimal natural materials for boys' socks. No fertilisers or pesticides are used in organic cultivation. In the further production process, boys' socks are knitted without chemical finishing. The production is fair, environmentally friendly and comprehensively certified, e.g. with the GOTS seal. The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is a globally applied standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibres and thus an important textile seal. It defines environmental requirements along the entire textile production chain, as well as social criteria. For Fairtrade cotton, the "Fairtrade certified cotton" seal guarantees that farmers receive a minimum price for their cotton that enables them to make a living. The Green Button indicates that the boys' socks are produced in compliance with particularly high social and environmental standards. Boys' socks that have been successfully tested for harmful substances are awarded the OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 label for clear and efficient customer communication.

Paired with breathable shoes, socks and stockings made of natural fibres absorb moisture and transport it to the surface, where it eventually evaporates. This keeps feet fresh and dry during all activities.

Organic socks are characterised by good skin compatibility and protect boys' feet from toxins and allergens. Boys' socks made from natural fibres offer maximum comfort and fresh sweat-free feet.

What are the different types of boys' socks?

The range at Greenpicks offers boys the right pair of socks and stockings for every occasion and season, available in sizes 19 to 38 for ages 2 to 16.

No-show ankle socks are socks that have no visible seams and sit just below the ankle. They’re popular since, after the boy puts on shoes, the sock is generally hidden by the opening of the shoe. Boys‘ sports socks made of bamboo viscose provide a good foot climate in sneakers and sports shoes. Knee-high socks and woollen socks are a great way to protect the feet, ankles and calves in icy temperatures. They will keep warm and elegant when the weather turns bad. Knee socks can be worn to keep boys‘ legs warm at a sporting event, when camping, skiing, or shoveling snow, or for any other reason.

Character socks for boys (motif socks) delight with colourful cuffs, cheerful stripes or graphic patterns in lively colour combinations. Soft cuffs increase wearing comfort and the elasticity ensures an excellent fit without slipping. Kept in neutral colours, boys can combine plain socks and stockings with many outfits. Fine individual models for kids and teens round off the range.

By the way, in the mens‘ department boys' socks are available from German shoe size 39.
