Disposable Platter made out of Palm Leaf | Leef

Each angular platter is made from a whole leaf of the Areca palm. In this way, Leef® uses renewable resources. Each platter is pressed at 110° C from a leaf, that is fallen naturally on the floor. They are completely untreated and without additives. Since Leef® serving plates have no artificial additives whatsoever, they decompose within 3 months, just as normal leaves.

Whether for private or for professional use – the guests will be impressed by the environmentally friendly disposable tableware. In addition to the positive ecological properties, the serving plates convince with their unique and elegant design. The Leef palm leaves platter Signature Line comes in a pack of 6 or 25 pieces.

Disposable palm leaf tableware from Leef is 100% natural, biodegradable and also fair and sustainably produced. The eco tableware is suitable for use in the oven (up to 180 degrees), microwave or refrigerator and freezer. In addition, the tableware made of palm leaves is stable, cut-resistant and impermeable to water. This product meets the following sustainability criteria

Recycling/Upcycling

Palm leaf products decompose within 3 months, just as normal leaves. The packaging is recyclable. Leef® Plates are wrapped in premium mulberry silk paper and recycled cotton fibres, which is fixed by a natural latex rubber band and a sticker with eco-friendly glue. The protective packaging for shipping is made of compostable bioplastic.
Fair + Social

Leef® works together with small rural farming contractors, safeguarding fair and safe working conditions. This approach to working with local production clusters creates jobs in rural regions of India, where help is most needed. Supporting the financial independence of Indian women.
Cradle to Cradle

The only disposable tableware based on nature's loan principle. Natural recycling cycle with maximum eco-efficiency – so one-way becomes a circular route.
Energy- and resource-efficient

Natural by-product of the Areca nut palm (no connection to the palm oil industry). After the gathered leaves have been carefully washed (without detergents and additives!) by local farmers, the washing water is saved and reused for soil watering. Sustainable packaging with compostable film.
Climate-friendly

Leef® has greatly optimized the packing technique in order to reduce the carbon footprint of the shipping process. The passage of a container from India to the EU now equals a truck ride from southern Italy to Germany. Every plate sold from Leef unlimited, one square meter of rainforest is protected from deforestation.
