Bio Cistus Incanus, coming from the Mediterranean is very popular as a soothing tea. Small branches and leaves of Cistusplant (also called Cistrose, Cystrose of the Cystusrose) are ground and manufactured into Cistus tea. Although the blooms of the Cistus bush are quite similar to those of the wild rose, Cistus is not related to the rose. It belongs to the family of Cistus plants. The Cistus bush is a noticeable pink blooming shrub and thrives in the warm Mediterranean.

Cistus contains a high concentration of polyphenol. Chemically seen Polyphenols are aromatic carbon compounds that act as antioxidants in the plant due to their special molecular structure. The flavonoids, for example, the largest known subgroup of polyphenols, absorb free radicals in the histoid and in this way protect the light-sensitive photosynthetic apparatus in leaves.
