The products offered at Greenpicks meet certain criteria in terms of sustainability. These sustainability criteria provide information about the background: Production and manufacturing method, the material origin and texture, working conditions, social compatibility, environmental protection and resource conservation, etc. Thus we give transparency and certainty regarding the products offered.
There are two groups of sustainability criteria, divided into hard and soft factors. Either is met at least one criterion of criteria group I or at least two criteria of criteria group II. Most products meet more sustainability criteria than this minimum requirement.
In general, we assume that the products offered on this marketplace consider ethical, environmental and social aspects.
Each seller assigns himself his products to the appropriate criteria. We verify the accuracy and go into discrepancies without saying.
We compiled the criteria of sustainability to the best of our knowledge and belief. We are open to suggestions and welcome constructive comments.
Recycling instead of throwing away. Use of reclaimed materials (Recycling) resp. application of objects used for new products (Upcycling).
Waiver of chemical pesticides and fertilizers, no genetic engineering, species-appropriate animal husbandry.
Waiver of ingredients of animal origin
Support for disadvantaged producer families, adherence to standards in the fields of ecology, economy and social affairs. Fair + Social is also to be understood as a collective term for ecological and/or sustainable production.
From cradle to cradle – recovery of raw materials
Use of modern technologies and methods to save energy and resources in the fields production of raw materials, manufacturing, transport and trade.
Reduction of CO2 emissions during production and transport. Compensation of CO2 emissions by supporting environmental projects (e.g. afforestation).
Use of environmentally friendly materials and raw materials.
Quality product manufactured with robust materials in high-end methods with a “character of inheritance”.
Manufactured by hand, no mass production. Products of sheltered workshops.
Encouragement of regional production.
