The olive wood manufactory "Olivenholz erleben"
What was once just a trading company for olive wood products is today the D.O.M. olive wood manufactory “Olivenholz erleben” or “Olivewoodlog” from the German town Seevetal. The sustainable range includes kitchen utensils, bathroom accessories as well as accessories for body care, for shaving and home accessories made of olive wood. In the Kids Corner, young amateur chefs will find wood products for the children's kitchen, which can later be used in households and children's rooms.
For the benefit of the environment and the customer
For the owner Guido Kindler and his team high quality, environmentally friendly production and customer satisfaction are in the foreground. For processing only olive wood is processed from trees that no longer bear any fruit. Only at the end of its life the olive wood tree is cleared for the timber trade. The wood is so dense in its structure that it has to dry for a long time. The drying process takes place exclusively outdoors and is therefore climate-neutral and energy-efficient, as no technical equipment speeds up the process.
The very hard olive wood is particularly scratchproof, hygienic and antibacterial and therefore ideal for kitchen utensils, barbecue accessories and bathroom accessories. It is insensitive to acids and odourless. Using special cutting tools, almost all household, kitchen, bathroom, office and BBQ products can be produced from olive wood.
Traditional everyday objects and the modern interpretation by Olivenholz erleben
Traditionally, olive wood finds application in the production of everyday items for the kitchen, such as a cutting board, an olive wood bowl or a wooden spoon. The sturdy natural material is increasingly appreciated by other areas of life, because it is almost indestructible. Another plus is that olive wood items such as toothbrush cups, soap dish, serving tray, shaving brush and key fob made of olive wood are recyclable at the end of their useful life. After all, the sustainable brand “Olivenholz erleben” only refines the wood products with olive oil, which protects the untreated wood. This also emphasizes the unique grain, which gives the products their high quality look. But other everyday objects and home accessories such as knife handles, candle holders, razors and bathroom rug are given a Mediterranean flair by the sturdy wood. Olive wood in the modern interpretation also allows sustainable office supplies, digital gadgets and toys. Occasionally, a mix of materials is used, which always consists of sustainable or recyclable materials. These include e.g. a milk jug made of ceramic with a 5-piece kitchen set made of olive wood or porcelain dip bowls on an olive wood serving board or a game of dice with a leather dice cup and olive wood dice.
Olive wood products are not dishwasher safe and are best cleaned with a damp cloth and possibly some organic dish detergent. It is important that the wood products are subsequently dried well. Regular care with natural oils helps to maintain the unique colour and grain of olive wood.
Pillars of sustainability: sturdy, durable olive wood & resource conservation
Olivenholz erleben relies on two pillars of sustainability. On the one hand, the German wood manufacturer concentrates on practical products in classic style and extravagant design, which are simple and beautiful due to the natural appearance of olive wood. In the case of art design objects, artists make interior pieces of olive wood. Here the blank target gives a rough idea, which is creatively implemented by artists in unique pieces for the living area and garden. In addition to practical and aesthetic aspects, it is above all on the everyday and durable use.
On the other hand, Olivenholz erleben focuses on the responsible use of natural resources. Especially in the online sale of wood products, it is not just about the climate-neutral shipping. Here, the North German company goes a step further and reutilises used shipping material instead of brand-new packaging material.
Italian fine food meets olive wood products
Mediterranean delicacies with local ingredients from Italy complement the ecologically-oriented offer of Olivenholz erleben. Pasta, sea salt, olive oil, balsamico vinegar, sauces and pesto offer a journey through the Italian world of pleasure. Here, too, Guido Kindler pays attention to the sustainability of the food. This starts with the environmentally friendly cultivation in the respective region, a fresh processing directly on site with sun-kissed products that no longer have to ripen or have to withstand long delivery and storage periods. Due to the local processing the Italian gourmet food receives the characteristic taste of the region. The delicacies can be enjoyed individually and are also offered in perfectly matched combinations with olive wood products. With the items of Olivenholz erleben, not only every kitchen and every barbeque will be a little more sustainable, it will also offer a wide range of eco gifts for birthday, Christmas and other celebrations. With an engraving on olive wood, the gift is even more individual. The lettering is burned directly into wood and creates an individual value and special attention especially for companies.
Hour of Birth of the German Olivewoodlog factory
In 2003 the founder was fascinated by olive wood, when he experienced the diversity and beauty of olive wood in a shop in the medival town Carcassonne in southern France. On his return he contracted his passion into a profession and started a trade in olive wood products. Inventiveness and craftsmanship, combined with a sustainable business concept, motivated Olivenholz erleben to build an olive wood manufactory. Since then, the company has constantly developed and designed new and beautiful wood products that enrich sustainably every household. With the location in Seevetal, Lower Saxony, the company secures jobs in the region. From rustic to noble, from practical to extraordinary, the shop "Olivenholz erleben" offers online at Greenpicks olive wood products for kitchens, bathrooms, barbecues and more.
