Ilex Guayusa, is a tree native to the region of Ecuador in South America that grows in the amazon rainforest. It is a species of holly and a close cousin of Yerba Mate that is brewed and drunk like a tea by the indigenous tribes that have been drinking it for 1000s of years for the energy lift and strength it gives them in the harsh environment of the rainforest. Guayusa is now grown in small family businesses in Ecuador and is also becoming increasingly popular in other parts of the world. We are in direct contact with one of these farms and strive to make people who are looking for an alternative to coffee aware of this plant with its health-promoting properties.

To offer you the best quality, the hemp leaves are hand-picked to select only the most beautiful leaves. Then, they are gently air-dried in the traditional way, protected from light, so that they can develop their intense flavour and optimal effect.

Preparation
We recommend brewing 0.5 g of hemp leaves (about one teaspoon) per cup with 0.3 litres of hot water (70-100 degrees) and letting it steep for 3 to 5 minutes. The intensity can be increased by a longer infusion time of up to 10 minutes. The recommended intake of three cups per day should not be exceeded.
